Poker dice is the fusion of poker and craps and a relatively new online casino game where players aim to tally up the most points by forming poker hands with five poker dice. Poker dice is a two player game where players take it in turns to roll dice, hold any they wish to keep and then re-roll those they have discarded. The resulting set of five dice can be scored as poker hands or single numbers on the scorecard.

How To Play Poker Dice

Poker dice is a game that sees two players competing against each other. The players alternate rolling the dice and hold any of the five they want keep for their point total. The dice they initially discard are then rolled again. The results yielded by the roll of the dice can either be scored on the scorecard as poker hands or single numbers.

The scorecard is split into two sections: top and bottom. In the upper half, if you enter your score against a particular number it will record the number of those dice you have after the two rolls at 1 point each:

• Ace – 1 point
• Kings – 1 point
• Queens – 1 point
• Jack – 1 point
• 10’s – 1 point
• 9’s – 1 point
• Bonus (minimum of 15 points from this top section Ace through Nine ) – 3 points
• Any pair – 1 point
• Two pairs – 2 points
• Three of a kind (any three of the same value) – 3 points
• Straight – 4 points
• Full House (three of one number and two of another) – 4 points
• Four of a kind – 4 points
• Five of a kind – 5 points

The Scores

The maximum score you can achieve in this game is 56 which are those having completed all the top section with five of each number etc. However, that it is not all about maximizing your score but instead about beating your opponent. There are times when your opponent is so far ahead that you have to “go for broke”, you are looking to maximize your score whilst at other times, playing it safe is the best decision.

Although the maximum score is 56, the average score in poker dice is about 29 while 30 or more is considered good. What this basically means is that it is very difficult to lose a game if you end up with 33 to 35 points. However, if you are lucky enough to obtain the maximum score, most casinos reward you with a very generous payout. Therefore, if the opportunity exists, go for it by all means.

Poker Dice is only currently available as a matchplay game. The player who scores most points wins the agreed pot less commission. Thus if both players agree to play for £10, the winner takes home £19.

How To Bet

Place chips by firstly selecting a chip value from the “Chip Values” box and then left-clicking in the bet circle adjacent to your chosen bet. A chip stacking system is employed – allowing you to stack chips in increments of the chip value selected. For example, if you have selected a “1” chip, your first click will place a “1” chip in the bet circle, your second click will convert this to a “2” chip, your third click will stack a “1” chip on top of the “2” chip, and so on and so forth. Placing a “10” chip will be equivalent to 10 times your chip unit stake. Hold shift and click to remove a chip. Click “Reset Page” if you would like to clear all bets.
