While his primary concern for the moment is bringing the All Star Game trophy to the American League for the 2010 season, Ortiz is thinking about next season. Even before the Home Run Derby was over Ortiz began expressing his desire to remain in Boston for more than just one more season. He cited the complications and distractions from his job as one of the primary reasons for his decision.
During 2011 the Red Sox, managed by Theo Epstein, will have the opportunity to provide Ortiz with a one-year extension, but this likely will not be enough for the All Star Player. Ortiz was very adamant about staying for more than just one more year, saying that he would prefer to be left alone to play baseball than to have to renegotiate next year. But, as confirmed by the Red Sox’s spokesman, discussions have not yet occurred between the team and Ortiz’s representative. People are speculating that the futures of Adrian Gonzalez of the San Diego Padres and Prince Fielder of the Milwaukee Brewers are playing a part in the Red Sox’s decision on Ortiz.
Spain the Favorite for 2012Following Spain’s stunning victory over the Netherlands at the 2010 World Cup, the country is considered as a favorite for the foreseeable future. Many online gambling websites list them as the most likely to win the UEFA European Football Championship in 2012. In 2008, Spain upset the games by beating Germany in Vienna. With this most recent win, many websites are giving the title defender good odds at retaining the title, being listed at 7/2 for at least three different sites. Odds range from 19/5 to 4/1, depending on which site a potential gambler chooses to view.
Prior to 2008, Spain had not won the title since 1964. During this championship, Spain took the title in a very difficult match with the then title holder Russia.
Germany may have a relatively young team, but they are being given pretty good odds for 2012 at 4/1 and 9/2 by several websites. Despite its less seasoned players, Germany came out of the 2010 World Cup in third place. In addition to their recent excellent display of playing prowess, Germany has been the defending champion of the UEFA European Football Championship three times. Their most recent victory was in 1996. They have been second on three other occasions. With their frequent forays into the top tier of football, Germany can pull in some pretty good odds across the board.

NFL Betting Strategy For Sports BettorsSports betting strategy for most gamblers involves more than just looking at the line in the newspaper, online and offshore sportsbook and online casino providers and then creation a bet. Sports betting can be gainful but there are many effects to ponder when looking at the online sports betting sites and proper betting types. Much of the trick to beating the NFL football comes from smart betting, not handicapping. The prevailing belief amongst novice sports bettors is that all successful sports bettors have monstrous data bases, and thousands of spread sheets, through which they process and interpret game stats and other relevant information. True, there are many successful sports bettors who do this-however, it’s not a requisite for success. By learning to spot profitable bets, and bet combos, you can show a tidy profit at the end of the year without crunching a single number.
