The game of Roulette is one of the more popular of table games found in both land based and online casinos. There are two versions of roulette that can be played today. The first is European roulette and the other American roulette. The European version has 37 numbers on the roulette wheel while the American has 38 numbers.

The American version offers 38 numbers due the inclusion of a double zero versus the European offering only a single zero on the wheel. The American wheel offers numbers 1 through 36 using alternative numbers to identify each number – this is done with a red and black color sequence. The zero and double zero is identified in green. To play American roulette players will need to select the winning number that the roulette balls lands on after the roulette wheel is spun.

How to Play Roulette

Rules of the game are simple and not hard to learn. However it is imperative to have the correct knowledge on how the game is played prior to wagering real money. Roulette is a game based on chance yet with the use of some basic roulette strategy and luck you can see some great results and realize a profitable experience while playing roulette.

In order to play roulette you need to place a wager on the roulette board. This can be done by wagering on a single number or by wagering in a combination of numbers such as any two adjoining number or a group of four joined numbers. A wager on black or red may be placed or wagers on the columns found on the board both vertical and horizontal. The game begins with the roulette wheel spinning in one direction and the dealer spinning the roulette ball in the opposite direction. When the ball comes to a stop the dealer will identify the number and color it stopped on. All those with winning numbers will be paid based on the odds for the wagers they placed.
